In brief
Moselradweg, where vineyards meet the river
This is one of the best cycling trails in Europe for those who love cycling… and good wine! The Moselle Cycle Path is one of Germany’s most famous river routes and runs along the Mosel river for 248 km, from Perl to Koblenz, where it meets the Rhine.
The river originates in France, in the Vosges mountains, and for a long stretch marks the border between Luxembourg and Germany. The cycle path follows it with quiet, well-marked routes, perfect for cycling without haste and enjoying the landscape. Along the way, imperial cities alternate with castles overlooking the water and small villages surrounded by terraced vineyards. An itinerary that everyone can agree on: those who love cycling, those who love the view… and those who can’t resist a good glass of wine.
Bike tours along the Mosel River
The cycle path is mostly flat, even though it is surrounded by steep slopes covered with vineyards. It is well signposted and runs along both banks of the Moselle, on paved or well-trodden roads. What we like is that the landscape changes constantly, bend after bend, making every day of cycling different from the previous one.
We have selected the best sections of the Moselradweg for you, including nature, fortresses, and castles overlooking the river. Follow the directions and cycle stressfree: you will receive maps of the route and we will take care of your luggage transport. All you have to do is choose the itinerary that suits you best.
To discover
Many beautiful towns
In addition to vineyards and the river, the Moselle also offers beautiful towns and castles to discover. Trier, Germany’s oldest city, preserves Roman monuments and historic streets. In Cochem, there is a fairytale castle overlooking the village. And in Koblenz, on the banks of the Rhine, the majestic Ehrenbreitstein Fortress tells centuries of history.
Delicious breaks
Wine is a real star here: Riesling and Müller-Thurgau in particular, but also many other varieties to discover between bike rides. To accompany it, the local cuisine is a sure thing: from grilled pork (Schwenkbraten) to pike fillet and smoked eel (Geräucherter Aal). Everything is delicious!
So much greenery!
Endless hills covered with vineyards, small villages surrounded by greenery, and the Moselle river flowing between picturesque bends and lush vineyards: a landscape that changes at every turn and captivates you with every pedal stroke.
