A cycling holiday by the sea
Croatia’s coastline is a succession of bays and cliffs, with thousands of small islands embroidering the blue water. The nearby hinterland reveals romantic hills, natural parks and scenic waterfalls, unforgettable landscapes that can be reached on cycling routes that may include stimulating climbs and descents.
But Croatia offers more than just a beautiful natural landscape: interesting cities and UNESCO World Heritage sites are easily accessible by bicycle to make your trip an even richer experience. Spending your nights on the boat makes the tour a true “holiday,” with bikes on board and romantic sunsets on deck at the end of each day of cycling.
Bike and barge: how it works
A cruise along the coast, with cycling by day and overnight stays in a floating hotel that follows you stage by stage. The cabin is yours for the whole week, so you don’t have to worry about packing and unpacking, and breakfasts and dinners are served on board, where you’ll be welcomed by the captain and crew. All that’s left to you is discovery of the area: Zadar, Dubrovnik, ancient Trogir, the Kornati Islands, Krka National Park, and much more, with refreshing swims in the blue sea after your rides!
The Gulf of Kvarner and its islands (1 tour)
The Kvarner Gulf is rich in historic islands. One of the best ways to visit them is to sail from port to port, enjoying the scenery and exploring each location by bike. Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Molat, Dugi Otok Pag, Rab: many pearls amidst the azure sea, with their medieval villages, picturesque bays, and Mediterranean vegetation. The allure of the sea is always there, as are the lovely evenings with friends aboard your floating hotel.
Dalmatia and its islands (4 tours)
Split and Dubrovnik are perhaps the most beautiful coastal resorts in Dalmatia. Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as are the ancient cities of Trogir, Primosten, Sibenik and Zadar, as well as the fertile plain of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar.
