To discover
Islands and nature
From the lush green hills of the Ionian Islands to the iconic blue and white of the Cyclades, Greece offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe for a bike and boat holiday. Cycle through olive groves and coastal roads in Corfu, explore the unspoiled bays of Lefkas, Kefalonia, Paxos, Meganisi — all with the Aegean always within reach.
Villages and historic cities
A cycling holiday between Athens and the Gulf of Corinth is a journey through myth, history and breathtaking landscapes. Hop on the barge in the capital of Greece and sail towards Aegina and the Saronic Islands, follow the shores of the Gulf of Corinth to the charming harbour of Galaxidi, or island-hop through Kythnos, Serifos, Syros and Kea — where ancient stories and Mediterranean life blend seamlessly. A unique route for those who want to experience Greece by bike beyond the better-known islands.

FAQ
How does a bike and barge tour in Greece with Girolibero work?
Our promise to those who travel with us is this: cycle easy, travel light. These words capture the essence of what we do. Choose your favourite bike and barge tour in Greece and leave the rest to us: itinerary, bike, barge, tour leader or maps to cycle independently, multilingual dedicated assistance. If you choose a self-guided cycling tour, you follow the stages at your own pace with route maps; if you join a group tour, just follow your guide.
Are the tours guided or self-guided?
Our bike and barge holidays in Greece include both self-guided and group options. On a self-guided trip, you ride at your own pace with all the route materials you need — maps and stage descriptions included. On a group trip, a guide takes care of the rest.
How does it work with meals?
In general, breakfast and dinner are served on board, while lunch is a packed lunch prepared with ingredients from the kitchen on board. As meal arrangements can vary by tour, we recommend checking the specific tour page for full details on what is and is not included.
Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?
Each trip page shows the route difficulty level. Bike tours in Croatia can be more hilly and mountainous, requiring a bit more fitness. But don’t worry — on days when you’d rather skip the ride, you can always stay on board and you can opt for an e-bike.
Can I join as a solo traveller?
Sure. Solo travellers are welcome on bike and barge tours. A single cabin supplement applies, as cabins are normally priced for double occupancy.
Can I stay on board if one day I don't feel like cycling?
Of course! If you don’t feel like cycling one day, you’re welcome to stay on board and enjoy the cruise.
What is included in the price of you bike and barge tours in Greece?
Every bike and barge tour includes: overnight on board, breakfast and other meals (depending on the tour), route materials or tour leader and multilingual assistance. Depending on the trip, you can add extra services to your quote, such as bike rental, meals, extra nights and transfers.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend it. A good policy should cover medical expenses, trip cancellation and cycling-specific incidents. Travel insurance is not included in the tour price and must be arranged independently before your trip.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, as places on the barge are limited. Many of our most popular tours sell out months in advance. Last-minute availability does occasionally come up, so it is always worth checking.
How can I book a bike and barge tour in Croatia?
It is simple: choose your trip, get your quote, and book directly online by filling in the required details and paying a deposit by credit card or bank transfer. Within 3 working days we will send you a confirmation email or an update. If you have any questions or doubts, get in touch. We are available by phone or email.
