FAQ
How can I choose the right itinerary?
In each tour, you will find information about the level of the itinerary, the expected number of kilometers per day, the elevation gain, and the type of terrain you will be riding on. Consult this information carefully to determine if this is the right tour for you.
Which destinations are best for a first bike tour?
The classics that will make you fall in love at first sight: the Castles of the Loire, Holland’s endless cycle routes, and the bike-and-barge tours of Provence and the Camargue, of the Danube Cycle Route or of the green Moselle. All of these routes are marked, flat, and filled with amenities.
How do I follow the route?
No need to worry! We will provide you with all the necessary information, materials, maps, and route descriptions, so you can ride peacefully.
Can children or families participate?
Sure, we offer tours designed for families with kids—these are short rides averaging 35 km per day. There are bike paths away from traffic, and you can rent bikes or accessories for the little ones. Plus, there are plenty of fun stops like museums, castles, playgrounds, and farms.
What kind of assistance will I have during the trip?
You will have all the information you need during the tour to ride without any worries while we handle your luggage transport. If there is ever an unforeseen situation, Girolibero assistance is available.
What if I'm tired and can't pedal?
On self-guided tours, you can pedal at your own pace and split your daily miles however you like. If you need a break, you can stop whenever you want! For some tours, we offer the option of shortening the route by train. For bike and barge tours, if you don’t feel like pedaling, you can choose to stay on the boat until the next leg.
Bikes
You can rent the bike type that suits you best. You will find it at the starting point of the tour and you have to return it at the end of the last cycling stage: easy, isn’t it? Touring bikes, electric bikes, tandems, accessories: our mechanics know them down to the last bolt, assemble them and continually overhaul them at our headquarters or at the nearest base of operations. The rental of Girolibero bikes includes insurance against theft and irreparable damage. See Girolibero bikes in detail.
